If you want to save some money, go to Sprint and get a Pre, they just cut the price down to 150 yesterday and there is a rumor that they will be adding unlimited mobile to mobile for all carriers tomorrow.

Like you, I wanted a phone that can serve as a PDA, so that was why the iPhone disappointed me at first (coming from a Windows Mobile platform and using MS Office, especially Outlook). But now I'm finding myself moving away from Outlook and more towards the Google cloud: for email, for calendars, and for contacts. At the same time, having the iPhone changed my habits too. Now I find the iPhone indispensable. I work around its weaknesses and exploit of its strengths, notably the Apps and the intuitive touch interface. From your description, it does sound like the BB is better, but I don't think you've mentioned if you would miss the various apps. Yes, other phones have apps too, but at least for the next few years (ie, length of a contract), I don't see Apple's store being overtaken in terms of variety or quality. I am starting to hate the bloat and the fickle nature of the App store, but they are more pros than cons for me.

However, I'm not using it for work though, so it's not syncing with work email or calendar, so my opinion might change in that situation.
