Continuous vs Contiguous...what's the difference?

Contiguous is when a bunch of discrete entities all boarder each other (like the 48 contiguous states). From dictionary: "in physical contact, touching"

Continuous means there are no discrete entities. From dictionary: "going on or extending without interruption"

continuous is more of a straight line thing

contiguous implies interconnection among numerous entities.

I95 is a continuous stretch of highway from Boston to Miami

48 of the 50 states are contiguous
