Continuing sound problems with creative, mobo reccomendations.

Howdy,

I have for what seems like a long time been having sound problems, annoying clicks and whatnot when playing games ect. The first culprit was a Sound Blaster Live on a VIA chipset. To no avail even thru countless reccomendations and bios updates would it stop its behavior. I Even tried it on a BX mobo and still had problems. (So please don't even bother posting any fixes as I have trashed that card and felt better for it.) I decided to scrap everything and just build a new system while I was at it. To save money i purchased a ECS k75A, using onboard sound I have not experienced any problems, but the quality was lacking especially since I had heard EAX and my surround sound setup was now worthless. A couple months ago I got the upgrade itch and bought 2 100 gig hard drives a RAID card and an audigy 2. After installing the audigy I am having clicking problems again, especially in Battlefield 1942 which is so severe my once play 3 times a week game is not even worth playing. Once again I have tried BIOS updates, bios tweaks, driver updates, game patches, screwing with every setting possible, as of now the only creative software I have installed are the newest drivers themselves.
I have reached the point where i am going to buy a new motherboard, (the ECS ticks me off anyway as it drains the battery once a month causing me a big headache) SO... does anyone have any reccomendations on a motherboard, specifically one in which you have an AUDIGy 2 installed and no problems whatsoever. Thanks for any help.

Does not matter I will lay down money for a new processor if it means I do not EVER have to hear an annoying click again!
But I;d rather not have a reccomendation based on brand loyalty. i'd prefer someone who has used an audigy2 for some time and have had no problems.
