I got one up to something like $98K, but my ignorance of enterprise servers caught up with me, and it had various incompatibilities I didn't know how to correct.

The absolutely most expensive server you can find are the Blade Servers.

Each Rack (4U I believe) can hold 10 Blade Servers. If you customize it completely with VM-Ware, it comes to around $30K per server. $30K * 10 = $300K

i work in the IT field and I'll say that the Dell PE 6850 is the most expensive of their "single" server lines. U know, it requires a 220v circuit as opposed to the 110v we all use.. yeah , its that special!.. it's a database server for crying out loud!
