Actually I am trying to get rid of self righteousness. It is what justifies hate. The bodies are hitting the floor because liberal hate is the creation of conservative hate ad creates it in turn. The world is being sucked into a black hole of madness by hate of the other and the event horizon keeps expanding.

A celebration of good over evil, naturally. What do you suggest, we strap on suicide vests and join the party or find fight bad ideas with better ones? Did you give up reason and hope or faith in the goodness of life?

Let's not pretend this is about "ideas". It's just factual that if roflmouth & co pretend to join your little prayer circle, you'll make amends to accommodate their ideals, simply because your self-interest to grow influence for that pet crackpot supersedes any earthly morals. This is merely how the world of religion works, and it's pretty obvious informing you of basic reality has about the same effect as on typical conservatives prepared to play dumb til the second coming.

I've always been a "come to the table, what do you have" type of person. Sometimes every thing works out, other times we hammer it out. Not prefect, but better than what we've seen in the last 8 years. But there needs to be more than the attempt to destroy everything that the Death Cult wants that permeates the GOP these days.

It does look like conservatives have cut through what must have only been a veneer of tolerance among liberals. The sore toes are so great everybody needs to stick them if each others faces. Can't even back off a second to consider the accuracy of what people who beat you in elections think. A recipe for losing..................
Good. America does not deserve to be rescued by liberals anyway.

The difference between liberals' and conservatives' hatred of each other can be summed up simply:
Liberals hate conservatives for what they say and do and stand for.
Conservatives hate liberals for what conservatives imagine liberals say and do and stand for.

That is a very liberal thing to say. A conservative would completely reverse it. Surely you know that.

All my life I have despised what conservatives are and have spent years and years on this forum venting that hate. I used to live in deep frustration that democrats are such patsies. I wanted revolution and war and total annihilation. But all through that I also knew that humanity is asleep and can't be logically blamed for anything they do My blame then,, is a product of my sleep and I am left only with the impotence of rage. There is not a single thing I can justifiably lay my hand on, not a single person I can blame except my own inability to identify the true sources of my rage. But in the solitary expression of my inner violence I have touched them and experienced utter amazement at what I found. Pain so ancient and irrelevant to the present it made me laugh it still follows me around. Love you dank. Let that hate flow. Just don't justify it or take it too seriously. There is only love and you are beautiful in my eyes.

Sure, same as 2+2=22 types believe they're right, too.

Just because you found a new religious interest based on your abnormal psych profile doesn't mean everyone has to join you.

If only Jews hadn't invented their religion. From it came Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Religion is largely an archaic social organizational system. If not Judaism it would've been something similar. The people remain what they are, only the details of rationalization differ.

Yea but maybe we would have come up with religions that didn't actively attempt to harm other humans and scientific progress. There are religions like that around.

It's always hard to predict alternative timelines but there's nothing inherent to the abrahamic version against ideas like modern science that weren't even around when the former was concocted. Much of the stories like Galileo was just a power struggle like any other. Look up your history and notice that "Buddhist" or whatever nations war & politik just as much. The specifics of the narratives are just minutia, the crux of religion is the system of social relationships that allow them to prosper. Same as more modern/sophisticated/advanced organizations like secular nation-states.

California, where progressive coastal elites “virtue-signal from the world’s most exclusive and beautiful enclaves,” while ordinary Californians endure “another perfect storm of increased crime, decreased incarceration, still ongoing illegal immigration, and record poverty

Liberals "hate" conservatives because they're brainwashed with stupid, immoral ideas, such as heaven/hell, gods being interested in people personally, or fighting poverty with incarceration. Conservative truth is derived from authority, "revelation" and tradition, which they value and seek to protect, just as a rational person would fight to protect scientific truth and skepticism. Regressives hate conservatives because it's trendy/peer pressure. Everyone hates regressives, because they're mfing sh*thead a**hole co**su**ers.

You really think people making $72K or, for that matter, $100K, will benefit from the GOP's policies? The only people who really benefit are way farther up than that, a vanishingly small percentage of the voters for either candidate. I stand by what I said, GOP policies are terrible for virtually everyone in this country who isn't decidedly wealthy.

They have them convinced otherwise. I have in-laws in the south and they are FAR right, yet most of them are on things the right wants to take away. One is on disability, and I think he could prob work. One is USPS employee who is going to retire with a good size pension. Not a single one of them probably makes > $50-60K. At least 3 of them are on subsidized Obamacare and truly think their rates are going to drop when Obamacare is repealed, yet their are older sick people... really? You really think that? They read far right websites that are full of lies and Obama was the devil BTW.

I might make a decent amount and am upper middle class, just one of the shrinking middle class. However, I don't doubt for a second that current R path would not help me. Some may consider me "liberal" but I don't define myself as that. I think the spectrum has just shifted so far right that even middle is what the right used to be. I would consider myself fiscally conservative with socially liberal leaning policies. But on that same note, I lean towards some liberal ideas, because I think some of them could save us money if we stood up to corporations and this oligarchy we have. I have voted prob 60/40 across party lines based on the candidate not the party. Well except in IL, I took party into account because this bullshit /w the budget makes me want to puke, raising taxes yet not cutting any spending, We have nothing but corrupt politicians on both sides and it's not going to end well.

There's certainly an appeal for liberals to believe trumpsters are on the dole voting against their self-interests (you know, dumb as shit whereas liberals r smart), but that's not what every study on the matter shows. For the most part they're the ones with the diminishing number of decent jobs remaining for the relatively uneducated, such as those USPS type gubmint work mentioned.

The crux (and this is key) of the harsh reality they've come to learn is that capitalism doesn't value their culture, ironically because through its tenets they don't value themselves enough to not buy imports from china. But the problem here is due to the aftermath of civil rights their political party has already aligned with the racism solution, whereby they're determined to keep above water by squeezing down the ethnics.

It's patently obvious that conservative voters are being deceived, based on the sheer amount of dishonest propaganda that comes from the right these days. If they were convincing people to vote for them based on self-interest, they'd be telling the truth a lot more often. And their voters would be a lot more in touch with the facts. For example, most of them believe that they are more taxed than they actually are. Because they've been deceived.

This is a prototypically liberal way to see the matter, from the perspective that factual reality is key. There was no such law of nature with humans until various students of the enlightenment choose to value objective truth, but I'm glad western liberal education instilled those values in you well enough to have trouble grasping any alternative, or at least pretend convincingly. You know, that alternative world that came before where people acted far more out of selfish interest instead of greater social principle, which many are still trying to conserve by parroting lines conducive to their cause whether true or not. They know that Obama isn't a kenyan muslim; they just don't give a shit so long as repeating it gets what they want.

The free market has spoken, and it attaches a much higher value to living in liberal enclaves than conservative holes. Even in red states, liberal college towns are some of the most desirable and expensive places to live. That's the free market's verdict, like it or not.
