How long do you guys wear them? The dailys are pissing me off... constantly taking them off in the night and putting them on in the morning is a pain. My friends wear their contacts for 3 months straight without a problem, but my doc said there's not enough oxygen flowing to my eye so I can't do that...

1. acevue advance
2. renu
3. never use them

i shall refuse to sleep with contacts, not enough oxygen for my eyes.

1) B&L PureVision (may be Toric... I can't remember, I do have a slight astigmatism in my left eye)
2) Alcon OptiFree Replenish. I've also used ReNu and Equate. Depends on what I have on hand at the moment, they all feel the same to me.
3) I've only had to use rewetting drops once, and I used my dad's bottle. I have good tear production, so they're not necessary for me. (My dad has terrible tear production, so he carries the drops with him when he wears his contacts)

Edit: Prescription: L: -0.75 R: -1.00. I could use -0.75 in both eyes, but my right eye vision wouldn't be as sharp.

So i just started wearing contacts like two weeks ago and i dont know anything about them. So, that said; i also understand that people will have different reactions to different brands and whatnot, but i'de like to ask some questions anywho:

1) what brand do you find most comfortable?
2) what soaking solution do you use and why?
3) what moistening drops do you use and why?

me:
1) acuvue advance, but these are the only ones ive ever worn
2) renu and clear care, havent seen a diff yet, just what they gave me
3) i would tell you but i cant find them , lol

also, i've got a question about the clear care formular. Inside the box it came with a contact holder that ive never seen before, i would take pics but my cam is broken. but it looks like a 35mm film case and the contacts go into this little crate thing kind of like those plastic hat washers. but for some reason when the Clear care is in there it bubbles alittle bit...like sparkling water but not so much.

I have been wearing contacts for years, also I work for an eye doctor. If you have any other questions I will be glad to answer.

me
1) Biomedics 55, comes in a 6 pack, you wear them for 2 weeks then throw them away
2)Alcon Opti-free Replinish
3) Allergan Refresh Contacts, it come in a little green bottle

1) Acuvue Advance with hydroclear - tried CIBA Night & Day (pretty good), some others for dry eyes (worthless), RGP (couldn't even get close to being comfortable in those, plus blurry vision on the edges); girlfriend uses Oasys
2) Equate (el-cheapo) no rub or opti-free or whatever's on sale. Sometimes just saline
3) Don't need em at all.

Only problem is my eyes dry out at night (without the contacts in). I've read that wearing contacts strips off tiny hairs on the surface of your eye that are supposed to anchor the moisture to your eye.

I wear Acuvue (toric I think) ... not all that comfortable, but I only wear them for basketball and other sports. I'd like to get some I'm really comfortable in so that I can wear some for golf this summer, but my optometrist doesn't have them ordered in yet.

I use the opti-free stuff.

1) Some toric lenses that my optometrist gave me
2) Complete Multipurpose Solution
3) Complete Blink N Clean

Renu gave me this weird rash under my eye 🙁

I know people who wear them for a month straight without taking them out. Some can't even wear contacts anymore because their eyes get so irritated. So be careful, I wouldn't wear extended wear lenses for more than a week straight, maybe two at the most. I don't mind the dailes becuase you just throw them out at night.

I used to wear Frequency 55 Toric's...they were alright not that comfortable on most days. Now i wear Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism and they are great. I used the generic Walmart solution. Renu irrates my eyes.
