Contacts suck!

I kept getting new ones for over a year before I gave up and just went back to glasses.

Actually I do like glasses as far as a nice fashion accessory so I have no problem wearing them, but no matter what, I could not get contacts to play nice with my eyes. I could take them out and put them back in in 5 seconds, so it was not a matter of that. They just bothered my eyes over time no matter what I did/which brand I tried.

I can't tell if the bastards are inside-out or not either, they look the same both ways really. Anyways I'll probably keep having a go for the new few days.

I haven't had contacts in forever, but back when I had them, it was pretty obvious which side was correct. It looks smooth and symmetrical the right way, and misshapen the wrong way.

What contacts are you using? I used Acuvue and the hurt like HELL!!! Switched to O2 Optics and WOW...extended wear contacts and they are COMFORTABLE! Never notice Im wearing them...been wearing the same pair for 6 months, never have taken them out! And yes its safe...Ive had more than one doctor tell me so...as long as they arent irritating you you can keep them in as long as youd like, even when sleeping and what not.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND O2 OPTICS! I was not paid to endorse them, they are just that damn good!

Wow, seriously? I have 12hr wear contacts and if I sleep for more than 10-20min with them in, they get stuck to my eyes and are very uncomfortable (as well as quite difficult to remove).

Is it like that at first for everyone? My eyes seem especially sensitive. I don't look good in glasses either though. I might just go without either.

No, actually the first time I wore contacts was one of my most emotional moments at the time. I could not control my smile. And... I was tearing up like crazy.

Have your ophthalmologist let you try a 3rd generation silicone hydrogel like Biofinity. Acuvue Oasys is a 2nd generation lens.

Can you leave Biofinity in your eyes for over night?

I see no reason to switch from Oasys since they are literally unnoticeable in your eyes.

It takes my eyes a month or more for the cornea to shape properly to the lens. During the phasing in period the lens will fall out of place easily causing blurred vision and tears; it gets frustrating and I'd have stopped wearing them if I didn't know it'd get better. I had this problem also when my old Survue lens was discontinued and I switched to Acuvue2; a month of hell and then after the cornea shaped things were perfect again.

I've been wearing hard contacts for about 4 years and they are a pain. However, I still like them better than glasses so I can't complain too much.

Make sure your hands are clean before attempting to put them in or taking them out. Also use re-wetting drops if the contacts feel too dry. It's hard to take out if they're dry.

Strange...when my contacts are dry, they pop out if I even blink too hard.

RGPs really are pretty comfortable if they are seated well. I wear mine to sleep (orthokeratology)
