Contact wearers

Nocturnal

Does your eyes get blurry after reading the computer screen for say ten minutes? I notice this is happening quite frequently now. I'm wondering if I should try a new contact lens like the ones I posted about earlier.

Mine do, and it annoys me. But, it also forces me to leave the computer and go do something else. Whenever I know I need to use it for a while I'll usually wear my glasses.. IE coding stuff.

And what sucks even more... is one of my current contacts is defective or something, seems like it is the wrong power, so stuff is a little blurry all the time anyway. Anybody know if I can complain and get a replacement? 😛

No, that is not normal. And don't sleep with your contacts in unless you have extended wear specifically designed for that.

I don't own a pair of glasses. I'm probably going to look for a nice frame this weekend and see if I can get a prescription. I'm kinda tired of it always being blurry every ten minutse. I know blinking helps but I know if I wore glasses it'd be a lot less hectic lol.

Your eyes just might be really dry.

contacts are a godsend.

I believe they are. What can I do to kinda lubricate them? Just use those contact re-wetting drops? I mean I can take my contacts out, douche them with solution and put them back in, ten minutes later it'll dry up again. You think the "Hydraclear" contacts will be a better bet for me?

Umm, that only happened when I just started wearing them. Now that I've had them for two years or so, it never happens.

Edit: My doctor recommended Clerz Plus when I was having those problems. 🙂

BTW - I have soft contacts... Focus Night&Day hydrophylic. I mean, the blurryness isn't so much where I can't see... just compared to wearing glasses where everything is 100% clear.

I went to pick up a trial pair of Acuvue with Hydraclear. I just put them on and I'll report back if they helped with the dryness in a few hours.

CibaVision makes "O2-Optix", who knows if they're any good, I think I might pick up a trial pack. 🙂

Contacts are awesome. But, if your eyes are tired (like late at night) then they will be blurry and the contacts will bother you.

When I'm up late on the computer (say working on a programming project), then I always put on my glasses. When my eyes bother me, I loose concentration and retention goes out the roof.

I wear Acuvue II and they are sweet. Going to try the Advanced when my supply runs out. Contacts are a godsend. Especially when you're like me and your Acuvue prescription is -8.50. Yikes.
