Contact Lenses - not bad after PM and Rebates

Went to visiondirect.com and got a decent price on four boxes of lenses. (which qualifies you, in my case, for a $30 rebate) I added the code for 10% off total order (easily found on google) and they give free shipping. Total cost before rebate was $104.22. (colored lenses)

Went to 1800contacts.com and they beat that price by 2% as advertised and threw in the free three day shipping. (Normally they only give the 5-7 day free shipping)

Total price for the four boxes came out to $101, and the $30 rebate which brings the grand total to $71 for a six month supply of contacts. (colored no less)

P.S. That price is nearly HALF off their retail prices, which already undercut many BM retailers.

Damn my Vistakon Oasys contacts are so damn expensive. I just paid $33 or so (with tax) at walmart in a pinch.

BigJ - Howd you wind up qualifying for a $30 rebate?
Answer: It's on the site and gets shipped with the contacts. (I'm sure you could find it to print, but you need the receipt so you may as well wait)

How to Receive Your Rebate Check
1. Get an eye exam.
2. Within 90 days of your exam date, purchase the required quantity of lenses from the list above.
You will receive your mail-in rebate certificate with your contact lens shipment.
3. Follow the instructions on the rebate form.

handydave - I usually by mine from Costco. Accuview2 are about $13/box.
Answer: Not the Freshlook Colors you don't. Those were close to $30/box when I almost bought them at Costco today.

Oh, I did buy Ciba Optix2 for $17.99; and Vertex Toric for $28.49 at Costco today.
(I can see well with regular, but the Toric's help more in my left eye, so one normal
and one Toric is how I wear them.)

Not bad at all. Still need to swing by Costco and try on some trial pairs to see if anything is better than what I've been buying. Only advantage to B&M.

Looks like a good deal.

Does anyone know a good location to get a cheap eye exam? I got one a year or two ago and need to get a new one. However, I remember going to Vision World at the mall, and they charged $150 for the exam if you didn't buy contacts through them. However, if you bought contacts through them, the exam was only $75. They didn't have very good prices on contacts, though.

Thoughts?

you change contacts every 2 weeks? i change like every half year. 🙂

i wear mine night and day for about 3-4 months. i was worried about damage too but i went to the eye doctor a week or so ago and he said everything was fine, he didn't "recomend" going that long, but he could see no damage to my eyes

sounds like a great deal i'm going to get mine right now
thanks
