I used to be a glass wearing pussy... to afraid to put my finger in my eye. My friends made fun of me.

I got contacts, but I was too chicken to put them in. Sound familiar? It was too hard, it took to long. The insults increased dramatically.

Within 4 days I could put one in, in about 5 seconds or less. I kick ass. My friends were amazed. I got the girls.

Cliffs:
Stop being a pussy and put your lenses in.

:p;)

I have astigmatism, and Toric lenses, and I haven't found them to be too great. I am just beginning another cycle of trying to get used to them after giving up.

I've been wearing contacts for about 5 months now. I don't even own a pair of glasses, nor have I ever. I wear the Night and Day contact lenses. I put them in and leave them in for about a month or 6 weeks, then I take them out and put in a fresh pair, repeat cycle. I don't even notice that i'm wearing them, nor have they ever fallen out or given me any sorts of problems. The only time I realize i'm wearing contact lenses is when I wake up in the morning my eyes can be kind of dry so i'll just put in a drop of solution in each eye and bam i'm ready to roll.

How are night and day lenses? You actually are able to wear them for a month straight?

After wearing my current toric lenses all day, reading computer screens seems to be a lot easier.

My contacts are no where near as clear as my glasses.

Explain to me how you put them on.

I'm exactly the other way around. I've never had glasses match the clarity of contact lenses. Same exact prescription too.

And since I've worn glasses for more than 10 years, my eyes are definitely not used to wearing contacts yet. She suggested, I try them for a week and see how I fare.

I do know whenever I get new lenses in my glasses, everything is a little out of focus while me eyes adjust.

Thankfully, the contacts do not seem to effect my driving abilities. Those still suck.

Glasses wearer for 10+ years.
Finally got contacts
Vision isn't quite as sharp.
Told to try them for a week.

Well, yes you have to get used to them - that might take a week.
However, the bolded part is not true, afaik contacts produce sharper vision than glasses (or was it that contacts usually have higher diopter (sp?)). Anyway there shouldnt be a noticable difference espcially not on the short distnce to a computer screen.

I love them. I haven't ever worn any other kind of lenses so i can't compare them to anything. But honestly I can't even feel they're in my eyes, and yes I regularly wear them for up to 6 weeks just because I forget to take them out and change them. I could probably easily get away with wearing them for twice that long without any problems. I don't change them because my vision gets blurry or anything, i change them just because I *feel* like I should. They say you should wear them for a month and toss them out. I know some people who wear them the same way I do and wear them for 2 or 3 months at a time.

Regardless of the lense thickness, they should go in fairly easily. You're just not used to it. If I'm in a rush and don't have the time to clean my contacts, I can be in and out of the bathroom in a matter of seconds. And yes, mine are monsters.

As for the blurry vision, maybe they simply don't fit you right. I've tried various brands (for over a decade), and some just don't sit well on my eyes. They'd go in fast, but slightly slide around whenever I blink. Get it checked out. Taking an hour to get them in probably isn't very healthy for the surface of your eyes, anyway. Have the doctor place them in your eyes for you. If they go in within seconds, then they're fine. Simple "user error," I suppose.
