Assuming the seals are attached and stored in a cool, dry place, why would contact lens solution expire and go bad? I understand the risk of contamination of an open bottle but if the bottle is sealed and stored properly, I just don't see why it would expire.

this just seems like an attempt by solution manufacturers to make us toss out perfectly good solution and buy new bottles. The reason I ask is because I like to buy bulk at Costco but never finish off the three bottles before one or two of them technically expire even though they're brand new and sealed.

Can anyone confirm either way whether or not it matters as long as it is stored properly.

I buy at Costco also, but the 2-pack Alcon Opti Free. The expeiration date is usually 2 or 3 years out... how often do you wear contacts???

To answer your question, I dont think the exp. date matters for "saline solution"
