Sheesh, wish I could check this at work as I just had a lot to read through.

Anyway, to update..

I have astigmatism and was given the 30-day disposable contacts. Wasn't really told there was any other option unless I want the price to go up. One of my eyes is off by too much so I'm limited to what brand of contacts I can get.

Anyway, I was told to basically take them out at night, put some stuff on them and run them around for a bit. Then plop them in the case until the next day. Then pop them in in the morning and dump out the case until the night. I went a month with the two trial bottles they gave me as it doesn't take much each night.

At Walmart they had:
Re-Nu 2 x 12oz bottles - $12
Bio True 2 x 10oz bottles - $14.37
Opti-Free Replenish 2 x 10 oz bottles $14.86

So the prices are about the same for the bottom two but the Re-Nu is definitely less considering you get more.

I guess I'll just pick one for now and go from there since the opinions here are all across the board.

I've always bought the cheap generic bottles from Walmart. When I'd go for a checkup to get new contacts, they'd often give me a bottle of something fancy like ReNu or OptiClear.

But I wouldn't really find any difference with them. And they're little bottles for a lot of money. Some try to be really intense. I mean look at that "BioTrue".

This is what I dislike about simple opinions and multiple variables.
So many people see all these options are nothing but companies trying to take money away from each other, and that thus, they are all exactly the same and might as well get the cheapest thing available.

Dude - these are your eyes we're talking about. Not much you can do if things get really bad, as some damages just don't repair.

I used to not care much about my eyes, then I started discovering how many problems I get with my eyes. And the worst of it, only a year or two ago I was diagnosed with Dry Eye Syndrome.
And finally, finally, found a fairly comfortable disposable contact lens. Though honestly, I need to move past disposable lenses - my eyes are starting to stabilize (for now?), and I've always been able to handle contacts just fine. Hell, even the contact lenses that bothered me the most, I could typically pull twice what they suggested for duration. 30 days? Hmm, that's a two-month lens for me.
Then again, those contacts weren't comfortable. Not in the least. Those were various Acuvue contacts. Now I've got Ciba's Air Optix (one astigmatic, one not). Minimal water content in the lens, which is good for us with Dry Eye Syndrome. The more water content, the more water there is to be lost, which means the more uncomfortable the lens, as DES means the lens will get dehydrated far more than with an otherwise healthy eye. Of course, I probably shouldn't be wearing contact lenses (optometrists have said that would be the best bet, but haven't outright claimed I am ruining my eyes and my life by persisting), but I am stubborn.

So I had been using numerous different brands, keeping with Alcon at that time (I was using either Express or Refresh). Wasn't in the best of eye health at the time, they suggested Re-Nu. I feel like it may have been a little better, but wasn't entirely sure. Well, some more events that I have since forgotten entirely, I arrived at where I am now: using 30-day disposables, and using Clearcare (regular Clearcare, not the Clearcare Complete version, which isn't the awesome peroxide solution like the former) most nights and using Re-Nu whenever I want to take my contacts out but can't guarantee I'll have 6 hours until I want to wear them again. Like I said, I am stubborn. And even the best contacts that I've tried, I can't wear all day. Not comfortably, and definitely not my first preference if preferences are considered.
If I am at home, and have a chance to not wear my contacts for even an hour or two... they're out the first chance I get.

I do need to do another round of solution trials, but that shit is too expensive to just sample like that.
But I want to, and definitely want to try that Biotrue, but then again I kind of don't, as it's even more expensive than what I use right now. But if BioTrue makes my eyes feel even better, but I'd say it's worth it.
But I still need to re-try Express (been forever, before I moved onto Re-Nu/Clearcare, I was using Opti-Free Refresh, Express was even longer ago and moved to Refresh for one reason or another)

Clear Care all the way for me. On my eyes, it's easily the most comfortable.
