My prescription hasn't change in years and don't want to pay for an exam, just to get an official (current) perscription..

Any options?

yes they do, it's just a bad use of punctuation

should be

"i don't want to pay for an exam just to get a new official prescription when the prescription strengths haven't even changed"

So you still have your prescription, it's just expired?

Yessir, sorry! I've been home sick all day and my original post wasn't very clear:

I have a valid contact lens prescription but haven't had a contact fitting in years. I do get my eyes checked for glasses every year so I know my vision, I just don't have an non-expired contact lens prescription.

I've ordered from websites but every order has been canceled since they verify perscriptions

I ordered some from I think lensdotcom and all the wanted was an electronic version...

you know how to use photoshop, right?

I've been using them for years, they are cheap too. I just had an eye exam a few hours ago for the first time in 3 or 4 years, my prescription is still the same from 10yrs ago...crazy.

Yeah, I just got one in December for the first time since 1997 and it's still the same.

Can you switch contact lens brands without a re-fit? I wanted to try a different brand (mine are 12hr lenses and I work 10hr shifts...yeah, that's not the greatest idea), but my eye dr. said I would have to pay for a complete refitting...

I got some Acuvue Oasys lenses from 1800getlens. Haven't been to an optometrist in probably 7 years and have never been fitted for contacts. I just guesstimated the prescription and used the "average" values for the measurements. No problems so far (been 6+ months).

Hm. Apparently the only lens I can get with the same measurement is the one I already have (CooperVision Frequency 55). 8.7 / 14.4...

I find it highly doubtful that your eyes have not changed in 10 years...also an eye exam is more for checking your eye health than what prescription you may be.

Is the $80-100 that bad to pay?

Thanks! I just bought myself my first set of contact lenses in 6 years thanks to that site!
