I had to work today on Memorial Day, I got called into Starbucks. Except it was at the mall, instead of my usual location. Id just like to give a big middle finger to the customers who decided to b*tch at the employees today, and to the cute little kids who smeared frappachino all over the wall. Its good to know you all have hearts. Its bad enough I had to cover today, but the overall attitude of the customers was "Wait... I have to wait for my drink? What is this crap!?" I even got some guy who thought since he was in a hurry he should get his drink ahead of like 5 other people. Trying to keep a straight face, I told him that people have to wait, and we will make the drinks in the order in which we got them. This was not good enough for him apparently. He kept talking and I just walked away from him. When I was finished making his drink, he thanked me for making him late, and he said he hopes I get fired for my disrespect. The only redeeming thing was my manager heard the whole thing and told him to leave the store.

I hate customer service sometimes, we are peoplet too...

I feel for you :(

I didn't do coffee, but I worked at Publix (mostly Florida grocery store) for two and a half years (NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN) and now at the Visitor's Information Booth on campus. Blah. I hate people.

I try to be as nice as I can to cashiers etc, now. I think everyone should have to go through mandatory service to understand what we go through.

It's really sad when people get so wrapped up in themselves that they forget what common courtesy is.:disgust:

Sorry you had such a bad day. :(

Actually we have these huge ice machines in the back room. We nick-named ours "Big Daddy Ice Caddy" (i know, im pathetic, but you get so bored sometimes). And they make these huge sheets of ice that are all ready to break. We take these huge sheets of ice and throw them as hard as we can into the sink and it makes like the loudest noise ever. This is called stress management. See also: Destroying old pastries, melting cups.
If you are ever at a starbucks and you hear a large crash from the back, you will know :D

CorporateRecreation,

1. Am I the only one that thinks SB's coffee is bitter? I mean just the regular brew. I hate to pay that much for coffee....but, if I'm gonna be cruising B&N, the coffee smell pulls me in.

2. Does B&N hold a large interest in Starbucks?

3. What is the relationship....I mean that they are in B&N?

Hey:

1) I agree that some blends of SB roast are bitter, but thats how its supposed to be. There are alot of blends at taste alot better.

2) Barnes and Nobles carries Starbucks coffee, but they carry very mild blends because most consumers like a milder flavour. I think that B and N payed starbucks a truckload of money to carry their product.

I do know that $tarbucks and Pepsi have a partnership. This is actually pretty interesting. When $tarbucks decaffinates its coffee, they sell the caffeine to Pepsico and they use it in their drinks. In return Pepsi distributes the Frappachino in bottles. Im pretty sure this is true, I heard it from on my managers.

Order the mild coffee of the day next time and get a shot of espresso in it. Mild "Shot in the Dark" is what its called. Good stuff.

That's really interesting about the caffeine to Pepsi deal.

Thanks for the "Shot In The Dark" recommendation. I like strong coffee...just not bitter.

ever since working retail, i try to be nice to the employees. but it goes both ways: sometimes you get sh*tty service with an attitude, like you're asking for special treatment when all you wanted was a cheeseburger. that's when i get snappy with the employees.
