Constitutional crisis

Impeaching a judge who ruled against Frump...

JFC, can they at least get the name of the GOP POS saying they are filing the articles?

It's Andrew Clyde from GA. Not Andrew Clyne.

If the press can't get it's shit together they are fucking useless.

Also the threat of impeachment is pretty meaningless when you need 2/3 in the Senate to convict and that isn't going to happen. So I doubt judges are all that worried about it.

Calm down guys if we flipped our shit every time some congress critter "drafted articles of impeachment" our shit would be permanently flipped.

While this case seems frivolous and is also liable to go nowhere, I don't mind if Republicans crack open the "it's OK to bring articles of impeachment against sitting judges" nut, since given the highly conservative nature of the judiciary (and most importantly the SCOTUS) its one of those things that will end up burning them eventually in the end.

If you think shit like that last line mean anything any more, then holy shit you guys really are off in Wonderland. They might not be worried about it yet, but its already past time for when they should have started.

I'm tired of reading/hearing the phrase "constitutional crisis", in any number of earnest articles and podcasts, usually liberals debating whether the US is in one or not.

It's not a "Constitutional Crisis", it's an attempted (and ongoing) right-wing coup.

LOL, how do they come up with stuff

New York Congresswoman Introduces Bill To Make Trump's Birthday A Federal Holiday

Beyond absurd, and seems to me quite literally incredible, i.e. has no credibility.

The major irony here is that Trump himself tries hard to forget about and ignore his birthdays because he tries to ignore his age and mortality.

Shrug, it can be both. Though usually the crisis comes before the coup (it did/is)

Want to bet they propose eliminating MLK day or Juneteenth and slide Trump day in?
I'll take that bet. Not gonna happen. Not while the mofo is alive. Same reason all the paper currency in America features images of dead presidents. I also opine that there will never be a Trump day or image of him on American currency.

That woman is a nutcase.

This is more performative bootlicking and it will never pass. It’s still disturbing due to the explicit ‘dear leader’ comparison.

GOP already has precedent. Naming things after Reagan before he died.

The "bet" though was that they would _propose_ such a thing, not that it would actually happen.

And

Definitely this...all falling over themselves to competitively praise the "Great Helmsman". Cultic behaviour.

It’s kind of hilarious that this Congress is so focused on fellating the Ego in Chief while they have a slim majority that could grow slimmer with special elections. Hey GOP, while you have absolute power, where’s that immigration reform/border bill you promised? I’m sure it’ll have a poison pill removing birthright citizenship to ensure not a single Democrat votes for it (some will anyway) but surely you have a draft ready to go??

This Congress has literally done nothing—the Laken Riley Act was already written and ready to go from the previous Congress. But this Congress is happy to sit on their fat asses while the monarch flexes absolute power.

No Trump day or image on currency, nope. But some places can name a street, park, or airport after him. The likelihood that I will ever fly into or out of an airport named after him is very very slim. Wouldn't want to go there.

Actually the bet was eliminating MLK day or Juneteenth and replacing with T-Day. Far fetched.

Congress men/women doing the dirty is nothing new. I don't think I would stand to be in the HOR.

Or a healthcare bill that they've only had well over a decade to work on while voting to repeal the ACA so, so many times?
