I definitely do not share your respect for all types of alternative medicine. Homeopathy, for example, I think is roundly debunked bullshit at best and a full-blown con job at worst.

Same thing can be said about many other things..

I've seen Tibetan monks give out herbal balls which helped many people and some said it was complete bullshit.

Accupuncture is another that has helped some.

Homeopathy is the not the only one that people call a snake oil.

FFS Walmart wouldn't be selling it if it was complete bullshit, but they openly sell cold, cough, sinus, allergy homeopathic meds on their site.

My wife really likes the sinus and allergy stuff herself. But it's hit or miss.

you have to understand 1 thing..

AUTOIMMUNE CONDITIONS

What works for 1 person doesn't exactly work for the next person in the same way.

Say 2 women get breast implants.. 1 is absolutely fine.. 1 has breast implant illness (mythical imagination) which doesn't exist according to many many doctors.

Autoimmunity is a vast complex thing that generic medical science doesn't fully understand or give notice to..

And I think I'm not alone in having doctors recommend tylenol to me for pain relief but it does absolutely NOTHING for me and I have to take Ibuprofen.

Same thing for BP meds.. Amlopidine did absolutely nothing for me. Lisinopril either.. but Lisinopril HCTZ does work for me.

Different meds work better for different people. And homeopathy does work on SOME even if not all!

Homeopathy isn't a valid medical practice, nor is it effective beyond a placebo effect. It's right up there with crystals and reiki.

So I don't think we can just dismiss the thought that what sounds crazy isn't actually effective in some minute part of the population.

It's not IVERMECTIN conspiracy theory stupidity.. but proof of actual science over 250-300 years of homeopathic trial and error.

The main problem that Homeopathic medicine has is Big Pharma basically calling it voodoo.

“Certified Homeopath” is just a modern way of saying witch doctor.
 
Homeopathy does not work outside of the placebo effect or maybe lack of hydration.

It can be harmful (beyond being used in place of a real treatment)) if not done properly because doing it properly requires you dilute the active ingredient to the point where there is an undetectable amount left in the water. If you leave an active ingredient in the water and it happens to be poisonous - congrats you just drank poison.
 
The thing I have against homeopathy is that it's own explanation for how it works goes against pretty much all the laws of physics never mind medicine!
I get that herbal medicine can absolutely have an effect, I get that meditation and yoga can have an effect, I kinda get that acupuncture might do something but I just can't find any logical reason why homeopathy would work.

Then maybe you don't understand homeopathy correctly.

Homeopathic medicines can be herbal derived from trees. Infact the vast majority of them are.

I think you're the one who doesn't understand homeopathy. By definition it must be diluted to the point that it's chemically just water. Like distilled water, with nothing else.

Half the shit put in homeopathic stuff would be poisonous at detectable concentrations.

It has to be diluted only to the point it's non toxic. That forms the base (which is tincture) or you can further diluted to 10 millionth times the original undiluted strength.

I actually use the stuff over the counter at Walmart.

Because I've had very good results, much better than using Tiger Balm, Emu Oil or Steroid Ointments.

Tried quite a few actually and it works good on me. But then again there are people who swear by other stuff and it doesn't work on me. That's why I'm convinced.. my autoimmune system works with some.. keyword some homeopathic medicines.

Yes, I am saying it's completely ineffective and bullshit.

If something has an ingredient in it under a toxic threshold but above a threshold that permits it to help the human body, that's just called medicine. If it's below the threshold of toxicity and below the threshold to help the human body, that's water, and homeopathic.

Find me a single study where the chemicals detected as present in something certified to be homeopathic have resulted in a change of any kind to the human body.

Until then, it's placebo, which is a very real effect.
