Is the EA380 worth it at NewEgg for $35, no rebate? I remember when it was $30 AR for a while. I dunno, I decided to get one.

If you dont' need one right now, I'd wait. I got the EA500 for $30 AR, and that's a real good deal.

You don't have a high pitched whine with your EA500?

I had a sonata 3 case thats its antec 500 earth watts failed after being on for about 2 min. I got a replacement case and the power supply was fine.

What was interesting, is the PS that failed supposedly had 2 12v 17a rails. But the 2nd case says it has 2 12v 21a rails.

I'm using one in my main rig (pretty quiet system) and I don't have any such noise.

That is pretty interesting. According to Antec it has 17a/17a. I wonder if all these rebates are to clear out old units - if "newer" ones have different specs?

The high pitched whine on EA500 or any PSU is not normal. I have had 2 older 350W Antecs, 1 Rosewill 450W, this EA500W, plus a EA430W I got last year as well as the new EA380W that I just got for $5 AR based on this thread. That's a total of 5 Antec PSUs, plus a lesser known brand, but one of them has or has developed a high pitched whine.

It may be an isolated issue with components since a few others have reported, but the vast majority owners don't have this noise. You should ask NewEgg or Antec to replace it. If it's mechanical sound, it's probably something the matter with the fan, or if it's electrical whine, then that might be with the circuit board. Either way it should not happen.

Outpost and Fry's B&M (Chicago store 2/13 ad) has the NSK4480 case with EarthWatts 380W power supply for $49.99, no rebates. Also, warm case/PSU deals from Newegg. See links in OP.

On Outpost.com the Antec TruePower Trio 430w is going for $39.99 with no rebates. 😀 About $8.00 shipping for me. Must put the item in your shopping cart to see the price.

I missed all the antec deals recently.
I needed one right away.

I was going to get the Antec TruePower Trio 430w at Fry's for $39.99 with no rebates. Only I'm an hour from Fry's and that's another $13-$14 in fuel roundtrip for me.

However, I saw a thread that stated THAT power supply MAY have some issues with the Abit IP35-E.
So I printed out the Circuit City online price for the EarthWatts 430 Watt that showed $59.00, sans the part about not available in-store. Took it to Staples and politely asked for a pricematch. No problem.
Also the 4ink carts I recycled helped another $12. ($20 PM)+($12 ink carts)+$13 saved in fuel=$32 saved plus fuel. Thank you guys for the up to date Antec info. It was very useful. The CSR at Staples was changing the in-store price of the Antec Earthwatts 500watt PS to $79.99 at closing on Sat. That started Sunday, at my local store here in So. Cal. Probably not the greatest price. I was tempted to try using the Office Depot in-store coupon for $15 off $60. I was afraid to push my luck.

Anyone else having trouble with Antec rebates? I called them this morning (1-877-776-1280) about a $30 EA-430 rebate I mailed 10/17/07. Spoke with a CSR who said the rebate was received 12/07/07, the check was mailed to me 02/07/08, wait 30 days from mailing date to call them on the check.

I also asked about another ($30 EA-380) rebate I mailed 01/03/08. The CSR said that rebate has been processed and estimated mail date of the check is 04/01 (April Fool's Day, probably apt).

So it two almost two months for either the postal system to deliver my rebate submission from CT to NY, if Antec is to be believed. Even assuming that to be true, it took them another two months to issue the rebate check (16 weeks after the rebate was originally submitted). For my January rebate, the check will not be issued until 13 1/2 weeks after it was submitted.

It seems that Antec's promise of mailing the rebate checks within 12 weeks is not being followed. Keep an especially close eye on your Antec rebate submissions is my advice.

OP updated. This is becoming a general Antec deal thread, not just on EarthWatts. I'll start adding more products as deals come and go, plus maybe I'll keep a history of lowest pricing for those of us who are patient.
