Console Question : Choosing one for my 3 YR old Brother.

Hello

I have a choice of getting one console...PS2, XBOX, or GAMECUBE. I HAVE A CERTIFICATE FOR EB GAMES! I DONT HAVE CASH.

For this Christmas, I want to get my 3 YR old brother a console. Except I don't know alot about consoles considering my last one was N64 and my last game was NO MERCY...

I'd really like to play GTA: San andreas but I guess I could wait for it to come out on PC. I will mainly play PC but once in a while I'll play on the console.

Any suggestions? He's 3 years old and into cars...(rumm rumm).

EDIT ill be usin the PC. and i think i can withstand kiddie games anyway.

considering the fact ive missed every major game in the last 2-3 years .. ive got alot to play on the PC.

Is this for your brother or you.... 😉

Why not get him something like a portable one like a gameboy or something similar? He's only 3 afterall...

3 years old? Get him some books and stuff. He's still too young to be playing video games (at least enough to deserve his own console, IMO)

I voted for Cube.

You'd be suprised at what some 3 year olds can do on a video game console.

How come kids don't like shiny new bikes these days?

Anyway, I'd say Gamecube because he?s young and it?s for little babies (get off my ass GC freaks, I was kidding 😛)

If he?s really in to car games... GT3, hands down, PS2... but he?s freaking 3 year old so any car game on GC would do.

He already knows how to browse through all the Teletubbie / PBS kids online using the links and such..

I think a cube would be even easier than a computer...

Voted 'Cube. Pokemon, Mario, Mega Man and Ninja Turtles - all in one place. Besides that, if he digs racing, they have that new bundle pack with 2 controllers and Mario Kart w/the Cube for $99. You can get more racers like those Hot Wheels racers or Burnout 2 or something with the extra cash left over.

Doesn't matter. My kids won?t have a console at 3 years old... that?s way too young. They should be learning to ride a bike, playing with GI Joes, legos... etc. Anyway, just my opinion.

They can do all of the things you listed, y'know. In moderation, there's nothing wrong with video games for kids. (I'm a parent of two boys, btw.)

Even though the GC is my personal least favorite console, it's the one I'd recommend for a kid.

Another vote for Cube.

but Lego's are the best suggestion.

I played with Lego's for years and years. I never got bored with them.

Get him a book. Maybe two. Get yourself one as well.

The funny thing is, my little brother could consistently beat me at Super Smash Bros on GameCube when he was 5, and I was pretty damn good. 🙂

Legos!

If you must, the cube for more kid-friendly games. It also survived X-Play's torture test that killed the other two, and is cheaper too.

Yeah start him young... make sure he is nice and fat by the time he gets to 1st grade so all the kids can make fun of him.

If you have to get him one, go X-box - he won't much care at 3 and you get to play GTA:SA ~8 months before the PC release.
