Console gaming comparison to PC.

Xbox 360- This is like a high end gaming computer, most hardcore gamers choose this for it's titles of FPS.

PS3- This is like a media PC. Mainly used for it's Blu-ray but can be used to game every now and then.

DS and PSP- like a laptop, you can take your stuff to go but somewhat limiting.

and finally...

Wii- This is like a Mac. You can play basic games on it. It has some pretty cool features that last for a bit until you get bored of it. You get it just cause everyone else has one and most of all, it sits there and looks pretty =D

That's not like it at all 😛

The 360 are roughly the same in power and both have a more or less equal share of killer-apps (check out my list of upcoming games, there are almost the same number of good exclusives for 360 and PS3), also, most shooters are coming out for both platforms now, 360 may have GoW2 but the PS3 has Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 so it's pretty much an even game. Also, a hardcore gamer would choose a PC for FPS, not an Xbox 🙂, also, a high-end gaming computer and the 360 are nothing alike, like I said, the 360 is on par with the PS3 and they are both good for what they are, CONSOLES, not gaming computers.

The DS and PSP, while portable like a laptop, are not that limited, I mean, the games are just different, I don't think you can compare stuff like Patapon and Castlevania to stuff on consoles, heck, Phoenix Wright and Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow are probably one of the best games I played on all platforms in 2007. People have a misconception with portable that they are just "limited gaming" on the go, portable games can often times be A LOT better than console and PC games.

The Wii is less capable than the 360 and PS3 (which is not the same case as on a Mac anyways) and there's nothing basic about the Wii's games, maybe the majority of titles are because developers want to cater to the casual market but games like Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess are anything but "basic", also, Mac computers are nothing like that anyway, they are anything but a gimmick, in fact, if I weren't a gamer I'd probably throw my PCs away, I only use them for gaming anyway.

So yeah, your analogy pretty much sucks, it makes me wonder if you even own any of the products you mentioned on your post.

You were saying? 🙂

Maybe it's not a good analogy, but I still liked it for the points that it did make.

360 - More emphasis on gaming
PS3 - More emphasis on media (even though this image is quickly changing)
DS and PSP - portable
Wii - More emphasis on trendiness and prettiness

Pretty sure I spend way more time gaming on my PS3 than for any other use. String him up!

360: Mid-ranged PC, overclocked but keeps freezing due to heat.
PS3: Mid-ranged PC with a fancy optical drive.

Corrected.
Please. The 360 is just as powerful at the PS3, if not more so. Did Sony hire viral marketers?

Macs don't just look pretty, they are serious computers that run a Unix based OS, OS X. People are buying Macs because they are fully capable machines that can do just about anything a PC can do, if not more in some areas.

PS3: Mid-ranged PC, because of a fancy optical drive.

Happy now?

The 360 and PS3 are basically neck and neck in terms of hardware/preformance. Its been done and delt with. Why do people still cry over whos better?

360: PC for online gaming /shooters
PS3: PC for Role playing / action games
Wii: Mac
