You guys are making too big a deal out of the frame rate. There are plenty of PC gamers that running old gear or with the detail sliders all the way up that have fairly low frames as a result. Lag as a result of your connection or the advantage of using a mouse to aim instead of a controller would have a much greater impact and make the impact of the frame rate insignificant in comparison. Hell, unless your game is literally stuttering the frame rate has very little impact as is.

Well, being that I am currently in the beta selection process for Shadowrun I feel I should comment on this topic. Yes, they are looking to cross platform Windows users & 360 users. The question at hand is what will keep the PC people from slaughtering the 360 folks. Well obviously KBM support would be first & foremost; and with UT2007 bringing KBM to the PS3 you can bet your marbles that the 360 folks will bring KBM support to it as well; and probably that will translate into KBM support on Shadowrun as well.

Shadowrun is also going to need an extensive beta process due to the new variances they will be adding to the FPS, or so you would think. The truth is most of the things they will be doing are little more than visual variances of normal weaon effects, so it should not create so many bugs as people would think. If you have not heard of Shadowrun check it out. There are previews of gameplay from their E3 booth & stuff floating around the net, and it looks to be a very good game.

Yep, I agree... I am actually a little bit skeptical over Sage's post anyway. Basically he admits he bastardized the KBM and fed the controllers some great behind the scenes autoaim! LOL... Whatever...

You know when i started this tread, I was afraid of this exact scenario. Programmers overdoing the assist feature on game pads, so console gamers have a chance of not sucking. This article sounds pretty much like they have tons of "tricks" to assist console gamers. And the PC gamers have standard point and shoot.

At the beginning of this article the guy mentioned that the console guys owned the pc guys. Was this with all the assists turned on for the pads. I believe they had all the assists turned on. I would like to see what happens if all the assists are turned off, meaning no autoaim.

I like their idea about enlarging the throw area, but its seems the other tricks which he is not mentioning is giving to much help to the console gamers. I would like to see the best console gamer go up against fa1tality in this game.

Who wins?

Yes, so add this and this although possibly in a wireless version (and maybe white with green LEDs to match ;))

plenty of halo console players suck, and plenty of haloPC players suck.... there's always some portion of the population that sucks and simply lacks the innate ability to advance to a higher level.. IE, i am athletic, but i do not have the degree of athleticism that would allow me to play on an NFL/NBA/MLS/insert other professional sporting league, level.

Nah Probably Not.

actually you're right... we'd throw down our KB/M because halo is too damn slow to be a REAL FPS ;)

This game is going to be all about screwing PC gamers to make the X-box 360 look good. So console players can easily beat PC gamers, and believe their system is better. Not only is the Xbox version getting an auto aim cheat, but they are screwing with mouse controls to make their aiming worse, and giving them worse recoil. No PC gamer with half a brain should step anywhere near this game, unless you like being a sacrificial lamb for Microsoft's profits.

Microsoft is really bad for PC gaming. They want game developers to make their games Xbox exclusives, and even the ones that aren't get features removed. Doom 3 for the PC had no cooperative mode, so it could be an Xbox exclusive feature. Even the original Doom had coop. The Battlefield series was another one. I think it started with Halo, they had to make the PC version worse and to make cooperative mode exclusive to the Xbox.

Well, hopefully with the Live! Anywhere idea, features will be cross-platform so play in said features will be cross-platform.

well, i don't think there's much doubt that a mouse is waaaay better at aiming than any console controller. if you want to check, the xbox 360 controller (as well as many others) work on the PC... fire up a fps that supports a controller & kbm (latest rainbow six game should work) and see which control scheme does better. no hacks, no auto aim, nothing. just an even comparison. i've got my money on the kbm even though the game def. feels like a console port.

it's the CS of the 360, or so it appears. i also think KB/M would be better for GoW, too.

^ Oh, absolutely it would be better for GoW. What I like about GoW is that there is little to zero autoaim. Pretty impressive for a console game. I heard that they're patching it in a month or so for 16 player multi. Sounds cool.

PC Gamers would, without doubt, wipe the floor with consolers. Superior control and more of a "dedicated" mentality, in my experience.
