Are there any such things? For example, hardware or software that will allow you to play PS2 games on the PC?

Thanks!

PCSX2

You won't be able to run it well on the PC in your sig though. Emulators for any older consoles will work fine though.

No. A general rule of thumb is that the system/computer running the emulator has to be 10x faster than the thing it's trying to emulate.

And then, of course, someone has to write the software, which would be a huge undertaking for the PS3 because it's so complex.

Generally, emulators are available up until the n64/PS1 era. Itll probably be quite a few more years before any later gen systems are emulatable on PC if at all. Its not a matter of power, its a matter of money. Its not that its too complicated to emulate the GC/Xbox/PS2 (the 360 and PS3 can do it), but emus are generally written by bored open sourcers for free, who dont have the time or expertise to undertake such a monumentous task without getting paid for it.

Most of the systems up to Dreamcast have practically perfect emulators. (less popular ones or more complicated systems, like the 32x and saturn, aren't as good)
Dreamcast has some pretty good, but rough around the edges (think beginning of n64 emulation) emulation.
PS2 is meh.
Gamecube has fairly good emus...shows a lot of promise.
Nothing beyond that. Honestly, I'd almost expect xbox games to be run in some kind of virtualization box on a pc rather than true emulation.
