Console controller -> USB adaptor

Are these any good? Will the analog stick still work like an analog stick? Is there a particular brand that's good? What's a good place to buy them?

wow never saw a gamecube controller adapter, well i use a PSX controller via PSX adapter i bought from radioshack and its awesome even vibration works

Why on God's green earth would you want to use that hideous controller on a PC?

You know they make controllers for the PC right?

I have the Action Replay adapter for my Xbox controller. it came with pretty good drivers and has a lot of configurability. It works pretty well. I think the most important thing for something like that is quality drivers.

an obvious response is because he/she has a gamecube controller? and would rather use it isntead of getting one made for PC?

The money spent buying an adapter could net a better controller.

Not if he likes the 'cube controller. I use an xbox controller on my pc with free drivers and I like it, but some games won't support controllers.

i have one that you can use either the N64 controller or the PS controller, it works fine but I have to calibrate it every time i switch them out

I actually like the gamecube controller... I find it a lot easier to remember which button does what because they each have a distinctive feel. SNES controllers are one of the best controller designs ever IMHO, partly because A and B were convex and X and Y were concave. I've never really liked the PS/PS2 and XBOX controllers.

That and, I have a Gamecube. 🙂
(I do have one of these too, and I don't like it. Anyone have a suggestion for a good computer gamepad?)

Those gamepads with the fans in the handles are pretty nice. No sweaty hands!

Personally, I don't see how having 2 buttons convex and two concave makes a difference. The placement on the SNES controller is the same as the PS controller, except the PS has more buttons and analog sticks. I'd go for a PS clone over anything myself.

I don't know, I guess it's just the way my brain works. I associate the actions with the feel of the buttons. What exactly do you not like about the Gamecube controller? There's a lot of Gamecube haters, but I wonder how many of them have never even played a GC.

The Gravis Gamepad Pro I have is a PS clone, I don't like it. It's too easy to accidentally change directions on the direction pad.

I have played the Gamecube, on multiple occasions. The very first thing I noticed about it when it first came out was how hideous the controller was and felt. I felt the exact same way with the N64. I haven't liked anything Nintendo since the SNES. I also don't like the Xbox controller either, I never know where my thumb is on that thing and it just doesn't fit in my hands.

I liked the dreamcast controller probably the most though.
