Yep, I love it too. The *only* complaint I've had about it all along, is that it's a little slow opening up (initally). (Compared to other browsers.) But all of it's features make up for it.

Do it and you'll never turn back :)

Apart from Windows Update and my online banking, I never open IE. If it doesn't work in Firebird, then IMO it's not worth visiting the site!

I liek

dont find it that slow starting up, a little quicker than IE. got a LOT slower with some "extensions" though.

I've only noticed a couple of sites broken when viewing with firebird, but nothing so far has been so broken as to be unreadable/unusable.

I've used it as my default browser for a while now. The only thing I use IE for is Windows Update.

Plus with Firebird, you aren't exposed to all of those exploits...

MS drives all it's competition effectively out of the browser market....then promptly drops IE off their development radar screen. Thanks, alot MS......jerks.

Anyway, Firebird has been my default browser for more than a month now and is easily better than IE, IMO.

go for it. it might be a little slower than ie on startup, but only because it's not integrated like ie is. gotta love tab browsing

Download it and try it... can't be that difficult!? I use Mozilla w/Multizilla for more tab control... just try it.

I've had problems with GameSpot while using Mozilla, but that site sucks anyway, so it isn't a big deal. The only other issue I've had is with WebCT, an online course information/quiz thing. Quizes are supposed to pop up in new windows, and Mozilla was blocking them. Really wasn't Mozilla's fault, it was just doing what it's supposed to do.

Firebird is faster in loading webpages, but still slower in loading up initially (I open/close browsers all the time throughout the day). IE obviously has that advantage because of the Windows dependency. ;)

I'd like to see toolbar support (Yahoo Companion) for Firebird. Not sure if that's the fault of Yahoo, but if they ever get that paired up, I'm there.

Firebird is faster in loading webpages

Many people would contest that, myself included. On my system, Firebird is not as fast as IE when loading pages (and it certainly isn't faster).

using opera: no gamespot problems here.

and the speed of webpages is much more dependant on the connection and server imho than browser.

Obviously the speed of your connection is going to have the largest impact on the speed of your browsing. If you have a slower than heck connection no browser will save you. Despite that, there can be very noticable differences in browsing speed when switching between browsers.

Maybe I'll get around to trying opera sometime, but Mozilla is working fine for me at this point.

DSL-2.8C - 1gb ram.. Firebird routinely kicks ass all over IE in page load speed.

Anandtech is way faster using firebird - ebay is faster- newegg is faster-etc. etc..

I have only used Firebird off and on though because I haven't taken the time to customize and load all the needed expressions.
