I've got a 61" Sony 4:3 SD set now (CRT/projection) and it's on for all freaking day typically.
I want a HD setup, have OTA HD (about 10 decent channels) and am a movie buff, am a pretty active Blockbuster online customer that still has the in store/free rental account (when that goes away, I'm going to Netflix)
Anywho, the Sony has pretty bad burn in, and I suspect that a plasma would get burned in pretty quickly under my use, and frankly both LCD & plasma are too expensive for the size I want (no smaller than another 61")
Also the plasma & the LCD's are pretty bad energy hogs, and with the amount of time I leave my tv on, that makes a bit of difference... The Samsung uses LED's which is supposed to be more efficient/longer life.
Don't like DLP because of the bulb issue, I'd go through 1 a year I suspect.
The Samsung has good reviews, reasonably priced and seems to meet my size, operating cost, burn in resistance, etc...
Opinions or flaws in my logic? (Aside from being a tool who likes to leave the TV on all day?)
Model I'm talking about
