<< If you ask me, your brother is making out in this deal. He would be lucky to get what he's selling it to you for. If I were you, I'd see what you would get if you were to trade it in, and go from there. I'm betting 10k would be more than fair. >>

He's not making out, im simply taking over the lease. He wouldnt be making any money.

Type-R, thanks for the post, but those kind of prices just simply arent available around here. I've looked thru the classified in both columbus papers and chicago tribune and I just cant get those prices around here. I'll keep hunting for a 328 but It looks like I'll be getting the 318 if nothing changes. I think I'll probably chip it and put new intake/exhaust in to up the horses a little bit.

I'm driving a 2001 325i and love it greatly. As people had already mentioned, do save up on the maintenance fee cause they'll cost you. For me the first 36K is on BMW :) also do save those maintenance papers cause they'll give you discounts on oil services and alignment services(the bottom portion the description sheets). Usually you'll get 15% off or $10 off <---better than nothing.

Do you mean that you are buying it outright, or are you taking over his payments on his already established lease?

The way I envision it working would be my father outright paying the vehicle off. I would then be giving him 5K upfront down and about 3K later after I sell my civic. I'd make monthly payments of about 200 bucks for 2 years to him for the remaining 5K or so.

Sounds like a done deal. Good luck with it.;)
