Considering ABS

Anyone here own an ABS Mayhem F15 Turion64 notebook? I am considering the F15 A30, since it is the cheapest on NewEgg and I want to throw 1Gig Corsair Value Select PC3200 in it, along with a Fujitsu 80Gig 5400rpm high shock tolerance HDD, and then a Buffalo High Power PC Card for the wireless. The higher model F15 notebooks appear to come with a MSI RA-Link mini-pci based b/g card that has connection and signal issues, so I am very leery of that. This mini-pci card has bad reviews in the notebook section where it is being used in the notebooks, as well as the section where it is being sold seperately (actually, the reviews there being VERY bad).

I would buy the base notebook for $799, and replace the 256MB stick of TwinMOS they have in there, plus replace the 40Gig HDD as well, and the A30 does not have the mini pci MSI wireless card so I am not paying for that up front.

All said, $1,050 for a Turion64 MT-32, 1Gig S0-DIMM, 80 Gig HDD, Buffalo Wireless HP PC card, and a 5.8lb weight with a magnesium allow chassis. The machine uses a SiS760GX chipset, but I am not going to use this thing for gaming.

Anyone think this is a bad idea?

I would say wait a month or 2 if you can for a dual-core turion. Nearly double you power for just a few months wait.
