Conserving System Resources

:QOh my! Since I got my DSL going, I've used up much more system resources at start-up. The Earthlink WinPoET, McAfee ActiveShield, and Zone Alarm use up a lot! Like 10% more.
Are there some start-up programs I can disable so that I will have a higher resource level? Right now, my system resources are 74% at start-up.

74% is fine. Quit whining ya big baby! But if you want to do some pruning, the easiest way is to go to your "run" menu and type "msconfig" to call msconfig.exe. Go to the startup tab and uncheck boxes you think you can spare.
