can somebody here share their experiences with power supply and or case that they used (non-AMD approved ones) with high power AMD systems (1.0Ghz and above)? what are some of the effects that one could expect to see or someobdy has experienced doing that?
reason:
just overhauled my system from a PIII 500 to AMD 1.4Ghz with the lovely K75sA board, with a new Radeon VE,...just seem to have thougha pblm, ever since the overhaul, with the system shutting off sometimes just after some long hours, most of the times though when video media simultaneous video media is playing..... could that be a power supply pblm where the thing just shuts off completely?
when it shuts off, the HDD led, the CPU fan and the case fans are still running or lit, but the Board seems to die since a blank dark screen shows up.... could this be a case pblm?

Might it just be dropping into some screen saver or power saving mode? Try moving mouse or pressing a keyboard key to see if it comes back.

I had this happen to me with a faulty 300w AMD approved PSU(went faulty after 9 months) I replaced it with another AMD approved 350w Enermax and problem solved,so I would start with changing your PSU if I was you.

Certainly sounds like a PSU prob. Enermax PSU's are extremely well made. Look into upgrading the PSU.
