CONROE performance a LIE???

I'll be hoping for a comparison with dual Xeons, although I doubt I'll ever see one.

Simply put, I have trusted Anandtech for many years. Their benchmarks and reviews have always been relatively solid. Anand seems to really believe his benchmark results, so I am also inclined to believe Anand more than some nobody. Nonetheless, we should wait until Core 2 Duo launches before we pass final judgement.

haha, what an idiot.

Conroe will beat AMD in desktop performance for 2006/2007.

There IS NO QUESTION.

Fanboys, put your helmets down.

Here is the reality, clock for clock, intel is faster.

Clock for clock, conroe scales MUCH better.

For gaming, etc. Conroe owns fx-60/62

Conroe extreme edition (2.93ghz/1066fsb/HT) are overclocking to 4ghz on air.

Just look at 3Dmark01/05/06 for right now.

Amazing how some people can post so much crap, and be so ignorant. It is like the intel fanboys that were talking trash on AMD athlon 64 a year ago.

sure, in 2007 it will be

but not in 2006. Launch speed is 2.93ghz/1066fsb/HT

in the fall, Q4 2006, conroe XE will be 3.03ghz/1066fsb/HT

E6800 will launch Q4 at 2.93ghz/1066/no HT

in 2007, 3.33ghz/1333fsb/HT

I have been using AMDs for my primary rigs for a long time but the Conroe sounds like a better deal for my next upgrade.

I recommend an E6600

You will be able to overclock it between 3-4 ghz.

It is the amd athlon 64 x2 4400/opteron 165 of intel

cheapest model with 4mb of cache, and overclocks VERY well.

someone ban this asshat already.

While i certainly recommend waiting for retail benchmarks, i honestly think they will be very comparable to what anand showed us. Some of you like to believe he's been paid of, or a gullible fool, but for some reason i don't share that opinion 😉

I am sure the truth lies somewhere between all of the above MORE TOWARDS ANANDS pre-view-review. Anyone can twist things to look better for themselves. I am sure Intel did it with that box, and this guy is twisting it his way. Below is the quote I most agree with :

There are already 100's of retail benchmarks using intel 975xbx retail board.

Ignorance is bliss.

I dont know if there was anything official on that. I heard those rumors but I think the EE is going to start out at a lower clockspeed than that.

Edit: someone beat me to it.

Has anyone read this?

Does anyone believe this?

I wanted to get a CONROE chip but now I'm not sure!

Does anyone believe this? No.....it is just like Apple quoting performance benchmarks for one filter test in Photoshop and then claiming they had the the world's fastest PC. Wait until you see the performance in actual applications and then go reply to him. 😉 However, both companies have some very good products coming out this year and for the first time in a few years it will be a hard decision on deciding what CPU will provide the best performance.

Not a rehash from this idiot again!!

:|No need for personal insults!

While scouring for a Conroe compatible motherboard (In that I thanked you for you advice in the other thread) I came across the above page and since it's the first time I've heard of it I'm therefore asking the community if they have heard or know about this (apparently) Intel deception.

What?s been rehashed here? I thought this was a forum to exchange information!!

I hope that there is a forum Editor/Admin here to stop this personal insult stuff going on, if it?s allowed then your going to get a mouthful.

the 5 stages of grief for CPU forum members who are currently in denial about Conroe performance.

1. Denial - Lies! All Lies!

2.Anger/Resentment - STFU and wait for the real reviews!

3. Bargaining- Well maybe it is not as fast as the proponents say, but faster than the opponents claim.

4. Depression- Damn! I just spent a bunch of money on a system that is markedly slower.

5. Acceptance - "Conroe system in sig"

LOL dapunisher

"Its a Scam!!! A Lie!!! A Hoax!!!" lol. Sounds like the damn 911 conspiracy theorists 😛

You can't buy the cip today, and people like Anand that design a test, build the hardware and review it using their own benchmark suite has NOT been completed. That is what we are talking about. I already suspect that most of this blog is crap, but there does appear to be something that many of us are not seeing. Until the full reviews by multiple sites are done using RETAIL chips, I reserve final judgement. I am not a fanboy, and not in denial, since there is nothing to deny.

Mr. Vain, I dont think that was in insult towards you but to the person in that link you provided. this topic has been discussed a million times, I know you didnt know. But every person agrees that whats on Sharikou's page is PURE BLOGNE!, He's possibly the biggest amd fanboy ever.
the results could be in front of him, and he would still find a way to deny its authenticity.

Pay not attention.

His logic is something like.....

Because my civic gets 45MPG as opposed to your Corvette z06, my civic is faster.

the point is there is no logic in his comments.

Logic tells me:

The core duo is already competitive clock-for-clock versus the A64 X2. So why shouldn't a good improvement (Conroe) be much better?
