Howdy all... this is my first post here so hopefully it is a reasonably intelligent one...
I have read that there are current motherboards that will support the new conroe chip once they are given a bios update. My question is, if there are not any mobos available which will run the chip right from the get-go, will the conroe chip still function in a mobo (possibly as a single core) so I am able to go online and download the bios update for the board?
My problem being that I need a completely new system and my current cpu would not fit in an LGA775 socket in order for me to update the bios.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks!
