I heard the premium will work. I bought it hoping that I could upgrade down the road somewhere. Otherwise I'm stuck with my 3.9ghz 805

wait, why wouldnt current boards work w/ conroe? is it just coz of the voltages? if u crank up voltages and a bios update will conroe work?

No...

It's a hardware incompatibility, rather a voltage regulator module incompatibility.
C2D/Kentsfield needs a board that's VRM11 compliant.

No, it does not support conroe, it doesn't have the proper VRM. The next gen 65nm it is refering to is Cedar Mill/Presler as compared to the 90nm Prescotts and Smithfields.

i believe the P5W-DH is the updated Conroe compatible version of the P5WD2-E
