I got the money to go Quad Core or Core 2 Duo Extreme. Don't know if the Price/Performance is worth it vs the C2 E6600.

No, the price/performance isn't worth it right now. If you're getting 4GB of ram, get a 64-bit OS. Otherwise, you won't get to use all 4 GB. Oh, and you do know that you're paying $10 for a HDD window, right?

Yeah I may go ahead, and get the 2.93 Ghz CPU. It looks dominating in benchmarks. I went ahead, and just got 4 GB of Ram since Vista is a RAM hog from what I hear when compared to XP.

I heard 3 GB hits the sweet spot, so I thought I'd go ahead, and get 4 GB. I hope they get Vista's Open GL performance on par with XP soon. I'm sure they will match it or surpass it by SP1.

How is the driver support for Vista X64? I thought X32 max memory support was 4 GB. Only reason I stayed clear of X64 Vista is all the driver issues, and performance drops I saw in some benchmarks here while back with XP.

That drops your rating to 1/10.

Driver support in Vista x64 is fine with any/most new hardware. Everything in my system (sig) has drivers for x64. Vista will only see 3GB of your 4GB unless you have x64.

Why is that? Seasonic, Lian-li, intel, gigabyte, not good in your opinion?

Good deal, I'll go with the 64 bit edition then.

X6800 is an extremely bad value.

I looked at benchmarks, and realized that it didnt not give enough performance to justify $600.00. 8-12 fps in most benchmarks. I think I'll stick with the E6600.

if your willing to spend that much... get a Q6600. I'm not a fan of Gigabyte, but if you're going to get one get the GA-965P-DS3.

I would build using an Asus P5B Deluxe.
