Connection without broadcast?

I just set up a wireless router with my main computer hard wired and one computer connecting with a wireless adapter. I have other security features on but I'd like to disable the SSID broadcast. When I do, the second computer can't see the network. It's my understanding that I can enter the settings on the second computer and make it automatically connect with broadcast disabled, but I can't figure out how to do that. Both computers have WinXP Home.

On the second computer with broadcast disabled, I click the notification icon and it shows no networks. When I click the Advanced tab, it shows the network (SSID name) in Preferred Networks below but I can't get it into the "top" Available Networks window. I know all the correct settings (er, I think I do) but what am I doing wrong?

Any help appreciated.

I've tried that... basically, once I disabled broadcast I went to the wireless computer and Added the network (SSID, etc.), but it still didn't show the network as available.
