Connection Quality

I've always had trouble with my wireless connection (connection drops all the time) and I was wondering if how low a signal was too low to expect relaibility.

I'm always at 2/5 bars (as reported by WinXP). I always assumed that this was good enough for a stable connection because my speed has always been good.

Is this too low? And if so, what's the bare minimum to realistically expect a stable connection?

These bars means very little. They are general representation of the signal + the noise, it does not represent the actual ?Speed?.

What count is the actual connection ?Speed? f or Internet purposes a stable signal at 2Mb/sec. and above is Good.

However two bars might indicate that you have in general a low connetion.

If it is a distance problem you can correct it.
