Hey guys, I'm back from college and I'd like to get on the internet. My folks have two computers that are connected to the modem through ethernet. I think my dad only purchased two IDs to allow two computers to be online simultaneously. I was wondering if there was a way to toggle the connection such that I can add my laptop when my folks aren't using one of the two other computers. Any suggestions?
 
I assume that you have cable or dsl so you can pick up a cable/dsl router for $20-$40, clone the mac address, then power cycle your modem. Tell your Dad that he can cancel the 2nd IP (typically $5 mo.) and the savings will pay for the router in no time.
