connection loss?

Recently I formatted my computer to clean it out a bit, but I have been receiving intermittent connection losses during various applications during but not limited to games, p2p software, web browsing, etc.

These don't happen too often but its enough to disrupt a lot of my downloads and set my queues on some programs back quite a bit.

These problems never happened before I formatted my computer so I don't think it's my connection (but hey, its roadrunner, probably their fault anyways).

Is it possible spyware, windows systems, or maybe even norton antivirus hogging the bandwidth temporarily?

If it's wireless and you're running Windows XP, try disabling the "Wireless Zero Configuration" service in msconfig. It's the last service in the list.
