I just formatted and put win2000 on my comp after having winXP on here, I have all the driver updates and everything but for some reason I can only stay connected for short periods of time to the internet. I am using dial up and I don;'t think it is my modems fault. Since I was at college and was having the same problem through a network. Any ideas?
 
2 different setups and 2 different oss makes me think it is some bios setting since that may be the only common element. Perhaps in the power management settings?
 
What would I be looking for then? I can't imagine what in the power settings would cause my connection to die, cuz with my modem it just disconnects me. Then when I try to redial it says there is no dial tone and no matter what I do I have to restart the comp to fix it. What should I be looking for?
