Headphone - Sennheiser RS120
Receiver - Pioneer VSX 518

Connected the headphone to the RCA output of the receiver. But on playing the audio, all I hear is static. Tried tuning, same result.

Connecting the headphone to the headphone jack of the receiver (using an adapter) works.

Is this normal behavior? I wouldn't think so.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for wireless headphones for around $100 range? I am not sure I like this one too much.

Thank you

You must have does this, but you stitched the output properly right? Also what is the source of the audio?

Yes I made sure I connected the output right. The source is Apple TV 3 - the output from there going into the audio receiver through optical audio cable.

Your question about the source of the audio got me thinking and did some google search

Turns out it is because of the digital input source. When I changed the input selector on the receiver to the connection from TV, the headphones play the audio coming in from the RCA output of the receiver.

Thank you.

yep, that's what I was thinking, digital/analog mixup was my guess since it was working on the headphone jack
