Does anyone have any experience connecting to an office VPN (connects via SecuRemote) using Mindspring MAX (based on an enternet connection).

I have struggled with this for a few weeks and am out of ideas.

I can set up enternet on my laptop to connect to mindspring using the enternet adapter.

However, when I install securemote on top and try and connect, it seems like it can no-longer see the ISP and doesn't log on to Mindspring.

I'm an newbie at this stuff, and my office it support have no idea. I currently connect via a dialup adapter to UUNET.

Cheers

Nevermind this one... found some help at http://www.phoneboy.com/fw1/faq/0380.html

The following steps fixed it. I think the solution was to create a free NIC PPPOE Adapter entry with TCP/IP and no FW1 to allow the connection to Mindspring to take place.

Thereafter, connections to the firewall go thru the FW1(PPPoE) adapter.

Steps:
Install SR on all adapters - (which you have to anyway)
Unbind the FW1 Prot from the NIC after reboot
Check to see TCP/IP has not disappeared for the NIC (Normal TCP/IP - add it back if so)
Remove TCP/IP for the PPPoE adapter (I found that was the main problem)
Make sure there is an entry for the FW1 adapter bound to the PPPoE adapter and an entry for TCP/IP bound to the FW1(PPPoE) adapter
In the enternet software, under properties for the connection make sure you choose the NIC as the adapter not an FW1 adapter.
