We have an office that we want to share our printer on using the network here..what do I have to do? It's an HP Laserjet 2420 and I can't seem to find a specific add on for it..so is there a usb/ethernet conver type of deal out there?

You have two choices:

1) Set up one of your computers as a Printer Server by enabling "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Windows" in networking (I would be surprised if this isn't already enabled). Which I have found to work very well - but you have to keep the computer with the printer on any time you want to print.

2) Buy a Printer Server - This plugs into the network and you plug a printer or printers into in it acts as a buffer for any print jobs you wish to send to a printer - The advantages of this method are it is available all the time; you can centralise all your printers in one place for convenience; and avoid snarling/crashing or computer problems from option 1).

You will find printer servers available from my stores and they usually support USB and older Parallel connections.

Ah, I've found a lot of JetDirect port type of deals, and it was an option for my printer apparently that we didn't get. However I can't tell which is going to be compatible with mine or not. Are all HP ones similar with each other, or do I need a specific one?
