Connecting onboard sound to an Onkyo-Integra Receiver

All,

I will be moving my old Micron Millenium XKU (P ii 233 or 266) near my TV/Receiver. I would like to connect the PC with the receiver so that I might use the receiver/speakers to play MP3s or internet radio etc.

The PC has an Intel Atlanta 440LX-based mother board with onboard sound. On the back of the PC there is a connection for sound in, sound out,and microphone. Currently i am using the powered speaker + subwoofer that came with the unit.

Can I buy a stereo plug to RCA right and left cable to connect from the PS's speaker out to the Receiver's Tape in or CD in?

I am worried that I might frie one unit or the other.

Is the sound out from a MB outputing the same as a CD player or as a tape deck?

Do i need to install a sound card that has RCA out Jacks to connect the PC to a receiver?

Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

The receiver is an Onkyo -Integra 5.2 which correlates with the Onkyo 595 you might see in Circuit city or online.
