if you assign a static address/mask/gateway does everything work good?

have you installed anything pertaining to your network connection lately? added features, new nic, wireless card, etc?

If you enter the IP of the Router to the Browser, do you get the Router's Menu system?

The long list of your system build in your signature is very nice but it is useless for Network/Internet trouble shooting.

It would be very useful if you divulge the nature of your Internet connection, the Router, and other Internet/Network information involved.

Go to start > control panel > Network connections > Local Area Network and then click the "support" tab. For "Address Type" does it say "Assigned by DHCP" or "Automatic Private Address". Sounds like you're having the same trouble I am.

If you cannot connect to your Router (assuming that the cable connecting the Computer to the Router is OK), it means that you do not have a viable Network Configuration on your computer.

Go back to the page that I linked before and walk to the process to evaluate and repair the Network Settings.

I repaired the link, http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html

Have you set any access restrictions for your router? For example, if you have enabled MAC filtering in the router menu, the new computer will not be able to connect to the router.
