Connecting fury x DP to 1440p qnix dvi-d

What cable so I need? Pulled my 780 to classy and installed the fury x. Just realized I have no adapter. The dual link cables are 140$. What else will work? 1440p @120hz

Unfortunately, there isn't any adapter I know of that will convert DP to DVI-D at that pixel rate (1440p@120hz so over 400Mhz at 8-bit). The fastest active adapter ($100 ones) are limited by DP 1.1 so max pixel rate at 360Mhz at 8-bit color I think. You'll need a card that has DVI-D built in (980ti or Asus Fury).

That is really super lame. The 780ti classy can already push over 60fps in most games. I bought the fury x to get closer to 120 fps... Guess I'll go back to the 780ti and sell the fury x 🙁 epic fail AMD and me for not doing my homework

yeah I didnt agree with them dropping it yet either but yeahh....

I just use the X-Star with my Nvidia rig now.....I want to go 4k gysnc or freesync but can't decide yet so gonna wait till that all settles itself out.

I ended up moving my AMD rig to LivingRoom gaming duty and just use VSR supersampling on my 1080p tv so as not to waste the Fury X power 🙂

How much of an improvement do you feel it is over native 1080p?
I feel like native 1080p isn't enough for me after seeing 4k screens downsampled, but maybe I just really want to upgrade. I wish AMD enabled VSR support so I could at least see how higher downsampled resolutions looked.

Its a big enough improvement that its worth the performance hit when playing on a fixed 60hz TV IMO. I wouldnt give up frames for it on the desktop though.

I created a post on this in the display's section months ago.

essentially active DP adapters are very hit or miss at 1440P @ 60hz., forget going higher.

THat's part of the reason I went with a 980 TI. I like my Overlord monitor and I don't wanna drop 600+ on a new monitor.

I don't have a desktop setup my main rig is for TV so that helps.

I feel crazy saying 1080p isn't enough and I need 4k vsr at a minimum, but it really feels that way.

Even just 1440p I like the iq a lot better. It feels like vsr really is a necessity for big screen gaming if you don't have a 4k display.

Anyone have luck finding a DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 that will support 4K at 60hz? I could move the PC to the living room where I have the 65 inch top tier 4k set.

Club 3D is apparently developing one and they say it will be available in October, sorry I know that's not much help right now.
