Connecting computer to projection TV

Hi guys,

I have this old (non hd) projection tv and I want to connect it to my 2nd computer. I bought a ATI DVI adapter and connected it to the TV with a component cable and my optimal resolution is only 640x400. If I try to expand this to 800x600, the screen doesnt know how to resize itself.

Should I try this with a s-video cable instead? What is the maximum resolution that these older projection TV can display?

You might be able to give it higher resolutions with an s-video cable, because then I think it will scale it down to a resolution the tv will be able to display.

I'm not sure on that though.

Did you try the s-video connection yet?
