For whose who are concerned about CCC (cheap Chinese crap), don't worry, I intend to test it fully before using.

Yeah, C is fitting, I just tried those. C is very common but the intex air pumps use them so I luckily had some laying around :D. Probably go with C first and see how that works. The only thing is how to connect it, I am not good with soldering so thinking about using electric tape, not sure if that's a good idea.

Is this just a simple quartz movement?
These have draw in the microampere range (averaged) and an alkaline AA cell should last for thousands of hours - over a year or more is not uncommon. Lithiums even longer.

If your clock is chewing through batts like this something is amiss in the movement. Pick up another for a few dollars at a craft store. It will take a few minutes to swap out and you should be good to go.

Yes, its simple quartz movement and yes its definitely strange, it runs out of battery much quicker than other clocks I have around the house, maybe because its are huge and heavy? not balanced at all for sure...

Maybe it is wired for parallel, but I'd definitely double check it before wiring it to your clock. I note that the little paper battery stickers are at odds with the molded in plus and minus signs.

Yeah, looks like someone jerry-rigged it.

Get a c cell battery compartment and connect the leads to your clock.

I was going to say something along these lines as well -- I've had several wall clocks in my lifetime, all taking a single AA (sometimes AAA) battery. They last for a year+ every single time.

who looks at a wall clock??

The computer, tablet, cell phone, all show the current time.

Same with a watch, like how many people really wear a watch?

If I want to know what time it is, if I am driving, the vehicle has a clock,
if I am surfing the internet, the computer shows the time bottom right corner. ;)

Save your money.

And depending on where the cursor is on the screen and where my eyes are, it might be quicker to glance up at the large digits on the nearby clock than to move the cursor down to bring up the taskbar, or to hit the Windows key to do the same thing.

And the power indicator LED on a monitor by itself likely uses more power than a basic LCD wall clock does. It's also visible from across the room. (Oddly enough, my monitor isn't on 24/7, and I'll carry a cellphone with me all the time once they can do 2-3 weeks on a charge, and be paper-thin. I just don't like having anything in my pockets when I'm at home.)
