I replaced my old base10 5port hub with a 4port router/switch (d-Link DI-704P) and all that is work great, now I'm having a little lan part next weekend and need more than the 4 ports avalible on my router and I want to hook my old 5 port hub up in the other room and I'm wondering how to go about this.
1) do I need a regular or a X-over cable
2) I know I need to plug one end of the cable into one of my router ports but I'm unsure of which port to plug it into on the hub, Do I plug it into the Uplink port or just one of the regular ports?

I think you would only need a crossover if you're connecting unlike ports. If you're going from one uplink to the uplink on the hub you can use regular cable. likewise for the normal ports. If you go from uplink to regular use crossover. I'm pretty sure this is how it'd work but you may want to wait for more people's answers.
