hmmm I always thought component was some sort of digital input.
So is there a vga to component adapter?
Or is there a component input capture card for the computer?

First of all which Xbox do you have, the original one or Xbox 360. Second what LCD monitor do you have?
I just been playing with this for the past week. Got a new LCD monitor, had Component input and just got the Xbox 360 over the weekend. Connected the Xbox 360 using component and it looks great. But some had advice me that I use VGA instead since my Monitor had a 16:10 screen size.

The VGA adapter for the 360 sucks, colors are totally washed out.

Thats how I hook up my 360 (vga -> Dell 2005fpw) and the dashboard doesn't seem as sharp as it should be. I don't have a HDTV so I wouldn't know how it should look on a quality HD screen. Games seem to look good but again I don't have a HDTV so I can't compare.

Same Monitor that I have claiming VGA is better. I have it using Component and it looks sharp in my opinion except for it looks like something gets cuts off on the bottom part.
Of course only way to really find out would be for me to shell out like $30 for the Xbox 360 VGA adapter.

that's actually a perfect example when I say the VGA looks washed out, everything has a white tinge to it.
