Connecting a 3.5 IDE HDD to laptop Notebook

I have this NEC powermate 2000 all in one desktop computer that uses laptop/notebook HDD and DVD It only has a 6gb Hdd and the Bios is too old so it will not recognize USB on boot. I want to find out if their exists some type of connector to connect a standard Desktop HDD to this machine. As I mentioned the bios is old so USB enclosure type solutions while they work under windows will not work on boot up. I know I will have to power the HDD up externaly. All I found is connectors that let you connect a notebook HDD to desktop IDE I need something that does the opposite.
