Connecting 2 wireless routers together to extend signal

I have a question.

I have 2 routers, a Belkin G router, and a Linksys BEFW11S4. The main router is the Belkin. I'm looking to hook up the Linksys to the Belkin and have the wireless signal from the Belkin extend further into my apartment. I have the ability to use the Linksys as a AP, but when I go to my browser and type in: http://192.168.1.1 it doesn't work. My Belkin's local address is 192.168.2.1, so there's no conflict there.

What's the problem?

edit: I have a hardwire going from the Belkin to the Uplink port on the Linksys.

Well I am doing the same thing with 2 WAP11s from linksys, but they have built in hardware that makes it as easy as a button click. It gets pretty complicated using 2 routers as access points if you are trying to get one to extend the others signal. If they don't have the "relay" firmware built in you might not be able to do it.

You could get a bridge for the linksys router and then use that but then you would have 2 wireless networks running. Which I have also done. But when you have to and your computer is on auto negotiate it tends to switch between them both so make sure you tell your computer to stay with the one you choose instead of letting it switch back and forth.

I set the Linksys LAN IP to 192.168.1.50, as well as put it in the same Subnet as the Belkin (which is now 192.168.1.1). Only problem is I don't know how to set it up as a "repeater." I see nothing in the setup about this...also I have both WLAN and regular LAN MAC addresses from the Belkin...which should I put into the Linksys?

I got it to work.

My Belkin has the option to make a wireless bridge. I followed the directions, and boom it worked.

I <3 Belkin.
