I recently purchased the Viewsonic VX2265wm FuHzion 120hz refreshrate LCD monitor which requires a Dual Link DVI capable videocard and input. I also recently purchased a new gaming laptop which was specified to have a external DVI-D port but did not... Instead after purchasing the laptop i was stunned to find out that specifications of the laptop were false and that the laptop only had a VGA input... I was originally attempting to connect my 120hz LCD to my laptop but now that it does not have a DVI port im kinda f**d. I have tried using dual link compatible adapters and also using hdmi but have found out that all are capped at 60hz refresh rate. I am looking for help as to how I can get around this such as maybe using a laptop docking station with a dvi input but i heard that most use usb 2.0 which would not allow the 120hz refresh rate of my lcd. But I also heard that some were based of of PCI-express? therefore it may work? Please help! very frustrated X_X btw, I have already updated all drivers uninstalled and reinstalled all video drivers and monitor drivers and have also confirmed my video card and monitor are not defective.
